![]() Would come back in the summer before my trip to Hong Kong for the Kawahagi season. The Chef is very friendly and had small talks during and after the meal. The Nikir they prepare has a good balance of sweetness and saltiness which accentuates the flavor further. One thing I notice is the rice they serve in Yasu is slightly firmer than other sushi-ya around Toronto, it balances well and gives it a nice bite. Kurodai is also carries a nice flavor as well. The way they did the Ikura was nice as they also brushed Yuzu skin on top of the Ikura to reduce the saltyness and lifts up the flavor giving the nice subtle flavor of Yuzu skin. The Akimo melts and explodes in your mouth with flavor but it's not overly strong. The Bafun Uni is much more complex compared to the Boston counter part. The order of the sushi was served well, a good lead in all the way to the last piece, certain pieces I got last night was worth mentioning such as the Hotaru Ika and the Bafun Uni, the Hotaru Ika is not common for Japan let alone Canada, and right now it's in season. Yasu offers premium Omakase sushi using the freshest, seasonal catch of the day. ![]() The meal was very satisfying as the service was very good. Yasu is a highly acclaimed sushi bar in the Toronto fine dining scene. ![]() The only option is the omakase, which includes 20 pieces of sushi. Jabistro is below those two, then Hiro is also below. One of the most unique dining experiences in Toronto is at the ten-seat sushi bar at Yasu. Oh you are the one you told me about it!! Big thanks, i wouldn't say its the best in the city, it's below Kaji/about the same as Kaji(sushi wise since they only serve sushi and nothing else), and Zen. ![]()
